This mission was carried out on behalf of a Western European electrician, wishing to invest in a French portfolio of operating and developing wind farms and projects.
Our intervention consisted in carrying out a preliminary financial model, in order to assist our client in the preparation of an initial offer.
Then, during the due diligence phase, we intervened on site, to supervise and carry out technical audits, as well as at the headquarters of our client and the target company, to verify the contractual conditions and authorizations under which the wind projects were developed. These last works, spread over a shortened duration of 3 weeks, led to the adaptation of the financial model used for evaluation and the writing of recommendations related to:
This mission is very representative of the interventions that Zelya Energy carries out on the sales of wind farms and projects. In recent years, our firm has conducted audits and evaluation work on more than 1 GW of wind farms, on behalf of large energy groups and renowned investment banks.

Zelya Energy advised an Investment Bank on its investment strategy in renewable energy electricity production. Zelya was asked to establish a coherent and ambitious strategy aimed at helping our client to target the most profitable investments in terms of electricity production and wind and hydroelectric equipment manufacturing.
This strategy was based on the segmentation of the wind and hydroelectric sector: manufacturers, subcontractors, developers, insurers, turnkey constructors..., as well as on the evaluation, for a typical plant of 4.5 to 10 MW, of future cash flows.
The result allowed to identify the most interesting profit margins and returns on investment, according to the sector of activity and the country concerned.
Zelya Energy advised an Energy Group on its strategy to enter the Spanish gas market. Zelya was solicited to establish a coherent and ambitious strategy aimed at helping our client to reserve the strategic capacities to support and secure its commercial development.
Implementation of a strategic plan and an organizational framework for a new entrant in the Spanish gas market: analysis of the regulatory framework ;
This strategy was, non-exhaustively, based on the following steps:
Similar work has been carried out for the French market, and integrated into a global strategy.
The result allowed the planning of strategic steps and the evaluation of financing and capitalization stages.
This advisory mission is an example among many others, very similar, aiming to:
The first step of our mission was to understand in detail your wind farm and its technical specifics. This allowed us to focus our technical audit efforts and recommendations on the areas that had the greatest impact on your operational performance.
Using a proven methodology and precise data, we conducted a detailed technical audit of the actual availability of your wind turbines. This includes the analysis of the evolution of wind turbine availability rates, as well as a thorough search for the origins of technical failures.
Our analysis did not stop at the technical audit. We also estimated the impact of technical failures on energy production, revenue, and the reinvestment needs of your wind farm. This includes a detailed analysis of your initial maintenance and warranty contract, as well as a simulation of energy production losses and potential financial penalties.
Finally, we provided concrete recommendations on the technical and contractual solutions to implement to minimize the impact of future failures. This notably included a reinvestment optimization strategy and advice on the clauses to include in new maintenance contracts.
The mission also led to a renegotiation of insurance policies, in order to ensure better consistency with the negotiated maintenance warranties and the age of the installation.
This consulting assignment is one example among many others, very similar, aiming to:
The first step consisted in analyzing Scada data, homogenizing and processing it, then confronting it with maintenance reports to analyze in detail the effective availability of each wind turbine. This included the analysis of the evolution of the availability rates of the wind turbines, as well as an in-depth search for the origins of technical failures.
