The physico-chemical characteristics, notably the humidity and the calorific power, may greatly vary depending on the geographical origin, species, etc.

However, knowing the physico-chemical characteristics of the wood resource can be essential for:

  • assessing the producible power of a power plant or cogeneration plant or a heat boiler;
  • checking the compliance of the fuel with the boiler's characteristics;
  • defining the quality characteristics of the fuel in the supply contract;
  • confirming compliance with greenhouse gas (GHG) or harmful emission thresholds set by the regulations.

To this end, it is possible to have several physico-chemical characteristics certified by a laboratory: composition of the raw and dry wood, moisture content, melting point, inferior calorific power, etc.

Our services

Zelya Energy, in partnership with an accredited laboratory, assists you in determining and certifying the physico-chemical characteristics of your wood resource, before commissioning or during operation, while taking care to respect a certain number of precautions:

  • precisely define, depending on the targeted objective, the physico-chemical characteristics to be certified;
  • ensure that the laboratory fully respects the applicable certification standards depending on your resource;
  • interpret and use the certified data to calculate the producible power, quantify the GHG emissions, check the regulatory thresholds, etc.
